  • Founder and Director

    Tania is the founder and director of The Learning Café and is excited to offer freedom, flexibility, and choice to the families of northeast Ohio. Tania has been an educator for over fifteen years in both public and Montessori schools. She is passionate about reimagining education and is grateful to have the opportunity to explore doing just that with The Learning Café. Along with being a certified teacher in the state of Ohio, Tania is a certified Wellness Coach, holds certificates in Positive Education, Positive Psychology, and Restorative Practices. She also holds an AMI Montessori Adolescent Diploma. Her hobbies include cooking healthy delicious meals, gardening, learning, and spending time with her family.


  • Preschool Teacher

    Lizzy is joining TLC with experience working alongside children of all ages ranging from infants to high school. She has worked in childcare settings for over ten years and has a strong passion for helping individuals learn, explore the world around them, and grow into their personal best. Lizzy also has assisted in Special Education classrooms and excels in implementing new strategies for teaching and adapting the learning environment to best serve the students’ needs. In her free time, she likes to go on adventures with her fiancé, hunt for vintage treasures, create, and learn!

  • Middle, & High School Math & Science

    Laura is thrilled be joining The Learning Café team. As a seasoned teacher specializing in Montessori education, she has over 30 years of classroom experience. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Kent State University and is AMI Montessori Certified. Over the course of her career, Laura has been privileged to work with hundreds of children, helping them form a solid foundation to assist them to reach their full potential. She provides support needed for children to develop the positive character and leadership traits necessary to become happy, productive, and caring citizens. Her aim is to “leave things better than she found them,” and encourages her students to do the same. In Laura’s free time, you will find her spending time with her family, cooking, reading, practicing yoga, and enjoying the outdoors with her dogs.


  • Early Elementary Teacher

    Yvette, an Ohio certified teacher and educator for over 30 years, earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education including certification in Learning Disabilities. A few years later, she earned her Master of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She taught in private and public schools before deciding to stay home when her oldest was born, which led to her homeschooling both of her daughters up until college. She loves to learn and share that enthusiasm with others. Besides serving on her community’s Park Committee and as President of a local Nature Club, she is an Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist. She especially enjoys attending her daughters’ music performances, playing with the family dog, Mallie, going on adventures, reading, and treks in the woods.

  • Upper Elementary, Middle, & High School Language Arts & History


    Mady is thrilled to be included on this journey of reimagining education with The Learning Café. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History, from Ohio Wesleyan University. While at OWU, Mady was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She was also the Team Lead for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware, Ohio. After graduating, Mady went on to work at a Montessori school, where she realized how beneficial individualized education can be. She is looking forward to creating a positive environment where students can be excited about what they are learning. She is passionate about History and thrilled to have the opportunity to share that passion with her students. Mady has two daughters and seven fur babies! Her hobbies include, crafting, paddle boarding, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.

Position Summary

We are always seeking elementary, middle, and high school teachers who align with our vision and mission.

As a teacher at TLC, you will lead a small classroom of students in the academic content and age group you specialize in. You must be comfortable teaching in a mixed-aged classroom and be able to differentiate and create exciting and engaging project-based lessons and activities for our students.  You must have a deep respect for the child and/or adolescent and have a passion for teaching and learning.  You must understand that connection comes before all else and put student wellbeing first above all else.

Qualifications

  • You have a love for teaching and learning

  • You have a deep respect for the child/adolescent

  • Having a teaching license/certificate is a plus, but not mandatory

  • A background in the following areas is a plus, but not mandatory

    • Montessori, Waldorf, or any other alternative teaching methodology focused on a whole-child approach

    • Positive Psychology/Positive Education

    • Restorative Practices

    • Non-Violent or Needs-Based Communication

Position Reports to: Program Director

Start Date: TBD

Hours: Mostly 9 to 3 but is flexible

Compensation: Competitive and generous
